About Michele

Michele Weiner-Davis, LCSW is the Director of the Divorce Busting® Center in Boulder, Colorado, author of eight books including the best-selling, Divorce Busting, The Sex-Starved Marriage and Healing from Infidelity.  
 
In addition to her extremely popular keynotes, workshops and intensive professional training events, Michele’s TEDx talk has garnered over 3.5 million views.
 
Michele has been an invited faculty member at the prestigious Evolution of Psychotherapy Conference since 2005. She is best known for her down-to-earth, pragmatic professional training events. Michele’s humor, warmth and genuineness are her trademarks.  
 
Following training with Steve de Shazer at the Brief Family Therapy Center in Milwaukee, WI. in 1982, Michele became part of the team that developed the Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Model that is now practiced by clinicians worldwide.  
 
In 1989, Michele and co-author Bill O’Hanlon’s groundbreaking book- In Search of Solutions: A New Direction in Psychotherapy- was published. This classic text for mental health professionals and graduate students outlined a guide to their innovative therapy model, Solution-Oriented Therapy.
 
Many of Michele’s trade books such as, Divorce Busting and The Sex-Starved Marriage are used as texts in undergraduate and graduate courses.  Her most recent self-help book- Healing from Infidelity- is used by many therapists as an adjunct to their therapy practices with couples who are dealing with the aftermath of affairs.
 
Additionally, Michele has authored and co-authored articles in many professional journals including Family Process, The Journal of Marital and Family Therapy and The Psychotherapy Networker.
 
Michele has received several professional awards acknowledging her significant contribution to the field of couple therapy.   She has been honored by AAMFT for her Outstanding Contribution to the Field of Couple and Family Therapy. She was the recipient of Smart Marriages’ Impact Award and The Alumni Award from Grinnell College for helping couples build and maintain stronger marriages and better lives.
